Pride Month celebrates LGBTQ+ people in all their diversity, raises awareness and combats prejudice with education. Pride Month is celebrated every year in June to mark the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York City in 1969.
How can you celebrate Pride Month?
Pride is celebrated as a month of joy where friends, families, communities and volunteers come together to march and celebrate worldwide. This month consists of colour and excitement as the crowd march throughout the city and honours the movement’s history. The rainbow flag is a symbol that reflects the diversity of the community and is used on social media to spread awareness.
One of the ways you can show your support is by attending London’s largest Pride festivals, Croydon PrideFest. Croydon Pride is a registered charity responsible for organising Croydon PrideFest. We are delighted to announce the return of this event after a two-year break. Make sure to check out this event by clicking here.
Let’s take this opportunity to uplift and honour the diverse voices of the LGBTQ+ community and culture.
