VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management

This qualification is suitable for hairdressers, barbers, beauty therapists and nail technicians. Units in this qualification have been mapped to the relevant NOS (where applicable). This qualification is accredited on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.

• This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19 or above
• You are expected to hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline, or significant industry experience prior to undertaking this qualification. Your centre will have ensured that you have the required knowledge, understanding and skills to enrol and successfully achieve this qualification.
• Learners should also have basic skills in literacy skills to at least Level 2 and numeracy to at least level 1 to complete this Level 4 Qualification. An initial assessment will be undertaken prior to starting the course to ensure learners reading, writing, speaking and listening and numeracy skills are sufficient to ensure they are able to complete the course

You will be assessed by demonstrating you have knowledge and understanding of the units of the course. This will be completed by completing assignments, online exams.

Mandatory units which will be covered are;

• Management of health, safety and security in the salon

• Quality management of client care in the hair and beauty sector

• Sales management in the hair and beauty sector

• Public relations (PR) in the hair and beauty sector

• Salon management

Optional units for this Diploma are:

• Research in the hair and beauty sector

• Salon design for the hair and beauty sector

You will need to compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate you have covered all theory requirements for the course.
