  • Course Overview

    The VTCT Skills Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Services is a course that has been specifically designed for those looking to change career and start work as a beauty therapist.

    Starting from the basics you will study the following mandatory practical units;

    • Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon.
    • Client care and communication in beauty-related industries.
    • Provide Facial Skincare
    • Remove Hair Using Waxing Techniques
    • Provide body massage
    • Provide Eyelash and Brow Treatments
    • Provide Manicure Treatments
    • Provide Pedicure Treatments
    • Provide Facial Electrotherapy Treatments
    • Provide Body Massage

    In addition, you will also be required to complete optional units which could include;

    • LED Gel Polish
    • Eyelash Lifting
    • Permanent Lashes
    • Intimate Waxing
    • Nail Enhancements

    (N.B. Optional Units will be confirmed during course discussions).

    Within this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety, client care and communication and you will also develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the associated Anatomy and Physiology related to these treatments.

    The purpose of this qualification is to provide you with a comprehensive set of basic skills in the Beauty Therapy Industry and also to further develop your skills as a beauty therapist to enable you to provide a full range of beauty therapy treatments to meet clients demands.

    This course is for anyone who wishes to change their career and start working as a therapist in a salon or to set up their own business. It will also enable you to develop an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of beauty therapy treatments, particularly in order to progress into related employment in beauty or spa therapy settings.

  • Entry Requirements
    • This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19 or above
    • Students do not need to have studied a previous qualification related to the hairdressing or beauty therapy sector to progress on to this course as skills development starts at Level 2 and progresses onto Level 3.
    • Learners will require good manual dexterity skills and should be physically able to provide the range of treatments in order to be able to successfully complete this course.
    • Learners should already possess Basic Skills in English at Level 2 and maths at Level 1.
  • Assessment Methods

    You will be assessed by demonstrating you have knowledge and understanding of the units of the course. This will be completed by undertaking written assignments, online multiple-choice exams and practical assessments.

    You will need to compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate you have covered all practical and theory requirements for the course.

  • Career Opportunities and Further Study

    When you have successfully completed this qualification will have the opportunity to progress to the following VTCT Skills qualifications:

    • Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy

    • Level 4 Diploma in Permanent Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation

    • Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments

    • Level 4 Award in Skin Blemish Removal

    This qualification may lead directly into employment in as a senior beauty therapist in a beauty salon or spa or to self-employment as a mobile beauty therapist.

    Funded via the Advanced Learner Loan. Available for learners who are:

    • aged 19 years or over
    • must have been living in the UK for a minimum 3 years.
