What is an Apprenticeship?
An Apprenticeship is a real job with training so you can earn while you learn and pick up some nationally recognised qualifications as you go. Apprenticeships are more than just a qualification. They provide high quality training opportunities to those who want to learn new skills and gain qualifications while working. Apprenticeships are designed with the help of employers and industry to ensure you are gaining the knowledge needed for you to excel in your chosen career.
LLC offer a comprehensive range of apprenticeship programmes including: Leadership and Management Business Administration Customer Service Childcare Housing Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools The London Learning Consortium offer Apprenticeships at intermediate, advanced and higher levels, plus all the support and guidance you need to help you choose what is best for you as your career develops. Intermediate Apprenticeships Apprentices work towards a framework or standard at Level 2, Functional Skills qualifications at Level 1 or 2 and in some cases a relevant technical certificate. Apprenticeships are designed for staff whose work is likely to have some autonomy and responsibility and may require them to work as part of a team. Advanced Apprenticeships Advanced apprentices work towards a framework or standard at Level 3, Functional Skills qualifications at Level 2 and in some cases a relevant technical certificate. Advanced Apprenticeships are designed for staff that have to apply their knowledge and skills while carrying out a broad range of varied work activities, most of which are complex and non routine.
Their job role will have considerable autonomy or responsibility and often require them to manage or supervise others. Higher Apprenticeships Higher apprentices work towards a framework or standard at Level 4-5, Functional Skills qualifications at Level 2 and in some cases a relevant technical certificate. Higher Apprenticeships are designed for staff that have to lead on organisational objectives through a wide range of functions, such as: managing team dynamics, delegation and capability building, planning and managing projects, and managing budgets. How long does it take? The length of our courses vary and are shaped to suit individual needs. The average length of an Intermediate apprenticeship is 12 months and an Advanced and Higher Apprenticeship are 12 – 18 months. In order to be enrolled onto am Apprenticeship programme you must be in employment for at least 30 hours per week and have a contract of employment.

When are courses fully funded?
Classroom Based Courses If you are aged 19+ and in receipt of either Jobseekers' Allowance or Employment Support Allowance (in the Work Related Activity Group) then you may be eligible for your course to be fully funded. You will also need to have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years. If you are currently employed then these courses may be co-funded.
Please call us to discuss your particular circumstances. Apprenticeships for 16-18 Years of Age If you are aged 16-18, your apprenticeship programme will be fully funded. Apprenticeships for 19-23 Years of Age Depending on your circumstances these programmes may be co-funded. Please call us on 020 8680 9803 to discuss funding opportunities. Alternatively Email: courses@londonlc.org.uk Advanced Learning Loans You may qualify for an Advanced Learning Loan to help with the cost of your programme fees. Most learners aged 19 and over, studying at Level 3 to Level 6, will qualify for these loans from the UK government. It’s easy to apply, your household income isn’t taken into account and there’s no credit check. You won’t have to pay anything back until your income is over £21,000 a year.
To qualify for an advanced learning loan you must be: Aged 19 or over Living in the UK on the first day of your training and have lived in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for three years immediately before. To be eligible you must be enrolled on a SFA funded course and show commitment to the programme of learning with attendance of at least 85% and satisfactory progress (assessed by the tutor). How long do the courses last?
The majority of our courses are 2 days a week for the first two weeks, after that, only one day a week. (Days varies) Employability courses are for 4 weeks, Monday to Friday. Condensed courses (fast track courses): 11 days

What is the duration of the courses?
Most courses last from 10 weeks to 12 weeks. Employability courses last 4 weeks. Condensed courses (fast track courses): 11 days.

What hours shall I attend to my program?
Most courses are between 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, including one hour break. However, we may allow learners to leave early (up to 30min) in certain scenarios, like the school run, medical appointments, etc.

Do I have to be receiving benefits for a fully-funded course?
Not necessarily, you don’t need to be in receipt of benefits for a fully-funded course. However, check with us your eligibility criteria by calling at 02087744040.

Can I do more than one course at the same time?
If you do one course at a time, it will increase your success rate.

Does LLC help with travel cost or Childcare?
