VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments

This course is for anyone who wishes to develop an in-depth knowledge of a range of beauty therapy treatments, particularly in order to progress into related employment in beauty or spa therapy settings. Anyone who currently works in beauty or spa therapy would also benefit from the course, as well as anyone with a personal need for or interest in developing a more detailed understanding of Beauty Therapy.

• This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19 or above
• There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification, however it as it is a Level 3 Diploma learners will be expected to have basic literacy skills to at least level 1.
• Learners will require good manual dexterity skills and should be physically able to provide the range of treatments in order to be able to successfully complete this course.

You will be assessed by demonstrating you have knowledge and understanding of the units of the course. This will be completed by completing assignments, online multiple choice exams and practical assessments.

Mandatory units which will be covered are;

• Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon

• Client care and communication in beauty-related industries

• Working in beauty-related industries

• Provide body massage

• Provide facial electrotherapy treatments

• Provide body electrotherapy treatments

Optional units for this Diploma include:

• Nail enhancements and advanced hand and nail art techniques

• Provide self-tanning

• Apply individual permanent lashes

• Contribute to the effective running of business

You will need to compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate you have covered all practical and theory requirements for the course.

When you have successfully completed this qualification will have the opportunity to progress to the following VTCT Skills qualifications:

• Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy

• Level 4 Diploma in Permanent Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation

• Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments

• Level 4 Award in Skin Blemish Removal

This qualification may lead directly into employment in as a senior beauty therapist in a beauty salon or spa or to self-employment as a mobile beauty therapist.
