Here at London Learning Consortium, we want to help you shake off the Blue Monday feels. Although our logo and branding might say otherwise, we hate feeling blue. So here are some ways in which you can perk yourself up and make yourself feel better on the gloomiest day of the year.
1) Have a warm cup of positivi-TEA.
Try drinking some herbal tea. Get that energy boost by drinking some Ginger tea. Ginger is a common ingredient found in medicines used for centuries. With a sweet but spicy taste, it is sure to leave your tastebuds feeling tantalised and leave you feeling more refreshed.
2) Play some music
Have you ever heard the saying “music is food for the soul”? If not then now is the time to turn up the volume on the Alexa and get those feel-good songs playing. Try singing or dancing along too and it will automatically put you in a better mood.
3) Journaling
Writing down how you feel can be just the right therapy for us all. Try writing down how you feel and exploring why you feel that way. When you are ready you can then try and make a list of solutions to your problems.
4) Have a pamper session.
Yes, you heard it right! Grab those bath salts from those Christmas gift sets and have an evening of relaxation. Ladies, try a hair mask, a face mask, and some bubbles. Gentlemen, why not try some muscle soak bubble bath and lavender essential oils?
5) Creating a list of achievements
When it comes to the new year, we can often feel pressured into feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Why not write a list of all of your achievements that you are proud of. This will help you to realise just how amazing your life has been so far.
6) Buy a gift for someone… or yourself!
This can help you to feel good about something. Kind of like a good deed for the day. This can make you feel much better on the inside and make you happy.
Most importantly, remember that there is help if you are feeling down or overwhelmed. Here is a list of numbers that you can call and reach out to if you’re not feeling good.
