LLC’s Remote Education Offer During Covid-19

Whilst we are starting to return to face-to-face teaching for some courses, you can continue to access our classroom courses online to enable learners to continue their learning from home. Our curriculum offer is extensive and includes a range of vocational courses that will prepare learners well for the world of work and the changing employment opportunities resulting from the pandemic such as warehousing and logistics. Delivery models include includes discrete online self-study as well as the more traditional tutor-led classroom-based group delivery both delivered flexibly either online or face-to-face.

Learners can still expect the same high standards of support from our tutors and staff. Operating in the online learning environment, we have streamlined our processes to enable digital processes such as signatures to be captured during the information, guidance, and enrolment process.

Tutors use Microsoft Teams to deliver online learning in groups and 1-1 sessions. Courses are structured to enable learners to participate in group work and independent study throughout the day. Tutors continue to have high aspirations for learners and are dedicated to ensuring that all learners can access learning and work hard to support learners who miss sessions because of distracting elements such as homeschooling, or disruptive learning environments.

Learners are expected to demonstrate a commitment to their studies by attending classes regularly and submitting coursework in line with course requirements. However, we recognise the challenges that many learners face during this crisis and ask that where this not possible, learners have early discussions with tutors so that appropriate support can be enabled.

LLC offers a laptop loan scheme to learners who do not have access to suitable IT and can support with internet access if this is required. We also offer learners access to a suitable environment for learning at our centre in Croydon. LLC has followed the COVID risk assessment guidelines laid down by the government to ensure that our premises are safe for staff and learners.

As we gradually emerge from lockdown we will continue to review the position regarding face to face learning in our centres as government guidance and the situation changes regarding the pandemic and will start to introduce face-to-face delivery to meet learners needs.

LLC continues to offer our programmes as planned online. We have made provision if needed to support young people who meet the “Vulnerable Groups” category with face to face learning in our Croydon centre if needed and requested by Students, parents, or guardians.
