The Futures4Students virtual Careers Jam is a free virtual careers fair for young people aged 16-24 to support them in their next steps into the world of work. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with prospective employers and educators through a variety of panel discussions, workshops, and a virtual exhibition. The whole platform will then be available on-demand for four months, meaning it is a fantastic opportunity for your university to continuously inspire students.
What?
A variety of panel discussions and workshops from the likes of Google, Tate & Lyle and Workfinder, where industry leaders and young professionals will share their experiences, advice and tips on a range of issues relevant to young people. There will also be a host of exhibition stands where attendees can chat live and arrange 1:1 meetings with prospective employers and educators
When?
Tuesday 3rd May 2022 – 10am – 4pm. The whole platform, including recordings of the sessions, will then be available on-demand throughout the summer until September, meaning this is a fantastic careers education resource for four whole months!
Who?
Anyone can attend the event but it is perfect for 16-24 year olds seeking career guidance and opportunities, including school & college students/leavers, university students/graduates and those seeking employment or training. Educators, career leaders and parents can also attend with young people or encourage them to attend individually.
Where?
The event is free to attend online from any laptop, desktop, tablet or mobile device! All you need is a well functioning browser (Chrome, Mozzila, Safari) are preferred. Please don’t use internet explorer!
Why?
Only 1 in 10 young people feel confident they can find quality work where they live. As a result of the pandemic, work experience opportunities have been scarce, apprenticeships and internships have not been offered as widely as usual and youth unemployment rates have been anticipated to rise by 163%. We are on a mission to help young people prepare for their future careers and help narrow the skills gap.
