We provide teaching assistant qualifications in the classroom and workplace and have provided support and training to teaching assistants for many years.
The Certificate L2 in Support, Teaching and Learning in Schools supports people who work in Primary, Special and Secondary education across all age ranges.
If you support the class teacher to enhance pupils’ learning either in groups or individually, this qualification will support you in recognising these skills and becoming a qualified teaching assistant.
The course will help you learn how to provide learning support to others working under the direction of the class teacher whose lesson planning and day-to-day direction set the framework within which you work.
Job titles include teaching assistant; classroom assistant; learning support assistant; additional needs assistant; pastoral/welfare support assistant; bilingual support assistant; foundation stage assistant.
This course is delivered in the workplace with no need to come into the classroom. You will have 121 support from your Training and Development Consultant (TDC) by visiting you in the workplace and supporting online.
The qualification is delivered at the workplace at a time convenient for the employer and learner.
All learners must have or be working towards a level 2 functional skills in English this is an equivalent to a grade 9-4 (A-C) GCSE in English. Learners must have a work placement in a Primary, Special or secondary school of at least 1 day a week this can be paid work or voluntary work.
Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

If you have been working as a Teaching assistant this qualification will help you be recognised for your skills and help you progress.
