London Learning Foundation

Who we are

The London Learning Foundation (LLF) was formed in May 2013 as a wholly-owned charitable subsidiary of London Learning Consortium. The London Learning Foundation is a health charity, which develops and supports projects that promote health and wellbeing, to young people and adults over 19 within London.

We believe that when we as individuals are mindful of our own health and well-being and the health and well-being of those around us, we can build and sustain communities of well-being.

At the heart of our approach is a strong commitment to designing our work with and for our residents and for residents to be part of the delivery. Alongside a Board of Trustees which meets three times a year to steer the Foundation and oversee activity.

What we do

LLF has developed a range of projects inspired by the Five Ways to Wellbeing as well as positive psychology. Leading by ideas and building on people’s existing strengths rather than being pushed by problems.

By consulting deeply with our partners and members of our community we really understand what would be most helpful in making a real difference to health and wellbeing in Croydon.

Our Approach

We are committed to:

Listening

We will speak to people and listen to what they have to say.

Supporting what’s already working well

We will use the knowledge, skills and experience people already have and explore how we can build on it.

Being brave and testing new approaches

We will be original and creative in achieving our mission and will share what we learn with others.

Understanding and valuing existing activities and services that do similar work

We will engage with and add value to other groups, learning from their experiences and knowledge and sharing what we know.

Our Aims

As a strength-based and people led charity, LLF aims to:

  • bring people together and build strong relationships in and across communities
  • improve the places and spaces that matter to communities
  • enable more people to fulfil their potential by working to address issues at the earliest possible stage
  • give local people a voice and empower them to be their best selves.
  • support learning outcomes around health and wellbeing within the borough of Croydon.
