SocietyLinks actively challenges discrimination and welcomes residents from all sections of the community regardless of their race, gender, disability, sexuality, religious, political and cultural lifestyles all beliefs.

There are three courses on offer:

Childcare Level 1

This course is our introduction to caring for children and help develop basic skills and knowledge. Learners will cover topics such as communicating with children, engaging children through activities, supporting learning and planning for the care of children’s physical and emotional needs. Ideally, you will need a placement/volunteering within a nursery.

Childcare level 2

This is a qualification designed for learners who want to develop a career in early years and are appropriate for the following roles: assistant nursery nurse, assistant early years practitioner or a childminder. You will need to be working or volunteering in a child care role, but other than that, these qualifications are suitable for anyone starting their first child care job. You must have a placement or volunteer within a nursery so you can be observed demonstrating how great you are with the children and the passion you possess in making a difference. This qualification will allow you to work in nurseries and childminder businesses.

Early Years Educator (Childcare level 3)

If you have completed your level 2 in childcare, maybe you want to continue building your knowledge but aren’t quite ready for a full apprenticeship. With different ways to fund your course, there are a few different options we can discuss with you. The Diploma for the Early Years Workforce is essential for anyone who wishes to work as an Early Years Practitioner. This course requires a work placement of 350 hours which covers working with babies, toddlers and preschool children. This qualification sets the standards that all early years practitioners must meet to ensure that they can support and promote children’s early education and that children develop correctly, taking care to see that they are kept safe and healthy. The qualification will give you the insight you need to work in a variety of roles such as babies and children aged from birth to five years along with building an understanding of children aged five to seven. This will allow you to e to work in roles such as a nursery nurse, early years practitioner, reception class teacher or nanny.

The courses could be fully funded subject to eligibility criteria.

We are also very happy to confirm that subject to eligibility, we may be able to cover childcare costs for you to attend our training along with payment for DBS checks to allow you to find a placement in a nursery. This is on a first-come, first-served basis and spaces are limited!
