Diploma L3 in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools

We provide teaching assistant qualifications in the classroom workplace and have provided support and training to teaching assistants for many years. The Diploma L3 in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS) supports people who work in Primary, Special and Secondary education across all age ranges and encompassing special educational needs and emotional vulnerabilities. If you support the class teacher to enhance pupils learning, either in groups or individually, this qualification will support you in recognising these skills and furthering your career.

We deliver the Diploma L3 STLS in the workplace with an Assessor visiting you on a monthly basis and all training is completed at the workplace arranging times and dates to suit your needs. Whether you are volunteering, working part-time or working full time we will be able to deliver the qualification to you and depending on your individual status may be able to access funding for your course.

There are some options to consider to help you gain your qualification including Apprenticeships, Learning loans and privately paid routes.


Delivery will be in the workplace with a Training and Development Consultant visiting you every 2-4 weeks and your employer supporting and providing off-the-job training. You will be researching projects and completing assignments along with observations from your Training and Development Consultant and discussions with them about your working role.

This will be a 2-hour visit each month with work set to complete in-between. For an Apprentice the employer needs to give support to complete assignments in work time.
