COURSE DETAILS

This course introduces the world of work and develops employability skills:

    • Preparing for Work
    • Using Numbers in Business
    • Sales and Purchases in Business

In addition you will study a City&Guilds accredited functional skill in Maths and ICT.
The focus for both of these qualifications will be on business and finance skills.

YOU WILL DEVELOP AN UNDERSTANDING OF:

    • Different organisations and how they operate, both public and private sector
    • How to contribute effectively in the workplace, through working with others, managing time and professional conduct
    • Data protection and confidentiality in workplace
    • How to match your new found skills to jobs, how to complete application forms and prepare a CV
    • The numerical skills needed in the workplace and in life outside work
    • Simple calculations that are used most often in business
    • The way businesses process sales and purchases
    • The way businesses documents procedures for sales and purchases
    • ICT for Business and Maths for Business

The qualification is assessed in 3 end of course assessments.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for anyone who wants to learn or develop skills to work in an office/accounting/finance environment and progress towards gaining a higher level AAT qualification.
It will enable learners to develop Finance administration skills such as, processing payments and receipts, preparing invoices, completing bank reconciliations, understanding double – entry bookkeeping and banking procedures, business communication skills including letters, memos and informal reports ICT maths, study skills

All learners will get support to prepare for work, complete CV’s, write application forms and undertake interview preparation.
