• 19 or over
• Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths or GCSE in Maths and English (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above.
• GCSE Biology or Science at grade A*-C/9-4 if you are wanting to study nursing or midwifery is desirable not essential.
• A good command of ICT skills (most assignments will need to be typewritten).

Unlike traditional institutions, there are no end-of-year exams. Instead, learning is assessed through coursework and phase tests, which are more reflective of a working environment.

Assessment methods vary and include, assignment, project, written practical reports, oral presentations, and tutorial tasks.

There is no final examination for this qualification, assessments are ongoing throughout the year.

Units are assessed through a variety of methods such as:

Your diploma comprises 60 credits at Level 3, of which 45 credits are graded at either pass, merit or distinction.

Your work will be marked according to how well you achieve these learning outcomes and your final feedback will refer to each outcome, as well as providing an overall percentage grade.
