  • Course Overview

    This course aims to develop your knowledge, understanding and competence in a range of different IT areas. To complete this course you will need access to a computer and a basic level of IT knowledge. It would also be of benefit to have some level of confidence in producing your own documents in Word, PowerPoint and Excel (as you will need to do this as part of your assessment).

    This course will encourage you to think about how IT can be used in different ways as you are introduced to specific tools that will aid you in utilising IT in everyday life. You will consider the best software and tools for specific tasks and will do this with the view of improving your productivity and efficiency. You will also learn about the importance of IT security; from unwanted emails and spam to computer viruses and firewalls. As you make progress through the course you will look in detail at presentation and spreadsheet software and will be assessed on your understanding and use of these.

    Please note: Competency elements will be assessed by viewing data files or screenshots of completed work. You will need access to a computer and the Microsoft Office suite to complete the course. During your online learning course with LLC, you will be allocated a personal tutor who will support you every step of the way. You will have access to additional support when you need it to make sure you can be successful with your studies. Our online learning materials are high quality, interactive and accessible in different formats to ensure you will be successful with whatever you choose to study.

    This course is ideal for those who work with IT within their current job role and for those who are familiar with using a computer and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). This course is not suitable for beginners, or for those who don't already have consistent access to a computer.

    Learners who achieve this qualification may progress into working in an office environment using IT in their job role. After completing this course, you can also progress onto the Level 3 Certificate in IT User Skills.

    If you wish to pay for this course the commercial price is £811 and you can do it in instalments.

    To be eligible for full funding, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Must be aged 19 or over.
    • Must not have previously completed this course.
    • Must have been living in the EU for the last 3 years.
    • Must live in England.


    If you are working you may also be eligible for part funding or choose to pay for your course.
