  • Course Overview

    ESOL Skills for Life qualifications support speakers of other languages based within the UK to develop their English language skills for work, further learning, or everyday life. This course will support you with your speaking and listening.

    The sessions cover a variety of discussion topics including:

    • Speaking about myself.
    • Describing my community.
    • Jobs and work.
    • Hobbies, interests, and free time.
    • Health and fitness.

     

    What you will learn:

    • How to listen, follow explanations and instructions.
    • Sharing and responding to personal information.
    • Identifying and expressing feelings and opinions.
    • Making contributions to discussions that are relevant to the subject.
  • Who is this course for?

    These qualifications are intended for anyone based in the UK needing to improve their understanding and use of written or spoken English. This might be to help get on at work (or get a job), prepare for further study, access public services, or just function more effectively in an English-speaking environment.

  • Entry Requirements

    You must at least be working towards Entry Level 1 ESOL to complete the first level of this course. For higher levels, you should be at least working at 1 level below.

    Your English Levels will be assessed at enrolment where you will be guided onto the correct level of study for you.

    If you are joining an online classroom course then you should have IT skills at least at Entry Level to enable you to access your classroom sessions.

    This course is assessed through a Speaking and Listening assessment with your tutor.

  • Qualifications

    Entry Level 1 to Level 3 Award in ESOL Skills for Life (Speaking and Listening) City and Guilds.

  • Career Opportunities and Further Study

    With this qualification you can progress to Awards in Reading and Writing, higher-level ESOL, Functional Skills, Sector related qualifications or Digital Skills.

    Achieving these qualifications to the required level can also support you towards gaining employment, taking on an apprenticeship or progressing to University.

  • Location

    Studying in a classroom with other dedicated learners at one of LLCs learning centres. LLC Delivers our courses in several locations in London and the South East. Your Recruitment Advisor will give you information about the available locations for this programme.

    If this is not possible please discuss this with your adviser as we may also be able to offer flexible alternatives for attendance on your course.

  • Price and Funding

    This course could be fully funded subject to eligibility criteria.

    If you wish to pay for this course the commercial price is £450 and you can do it in instalments.

    To be eligible for full funding, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Must be aged 19 or over.
    • Must not have previously completed this course.
    • Must have been living in the EU for the last 3 years.
    • Must live in England.


    If you are working you may also be eligible for part funding or choose to pay for your course.

    You will be advised regarding your funding eligibility by an LLC Recruitment Advisor.
