  • Course Overview

    This course will equip you with a detailed understanding of Maths at the appropriate level, including core modules that will aid employability and confidence in key skills. Our e-learning resources can be accessed online to give you time to practise your skills and can be worked through with the support of your tutor to challenge and maximise the development of crucial skills for work and life. When you have completed all units of the course your tutor will prepare you for your functional skills examinations which are completed in the classroom at Entry Level and Online for levels 1 and 2.

    Maths Functional skills courses are designed to support you in improving your maths skills. We deliver from Entry 1 up to level 2 and will deliver the right level of Maths to suit your needs. A Level 2 Functional skill qualification is equivalent to a grade 9-4(A-C) GCSE and will help you improve your maths skills in the workplace.

  • Who is this course for?

    Functional Skills qualifications are intended for anyone wishing to develop their maths. They focus on both the underpinning skills as well as the ability to apply maths to different contexts.

  • Entry Requirements

    You must at least be working towards Entry Level 1 Maths to complete the first level of this course. For higher levels, you should be at least working at 1 level below.

    Your English Levels will be assessed at enrolment where you will be guided onto the correct level of study for you.

    If you are joining an online classroom course then you should have IT skills at least at Entry Level to enable you to access your classroom sessions.

  • Assessment Methods

    This course is assessed through exams which will be completed in the classroom for entry-level and online for levels 1 and 2.

    Functional Skills in Maths, City & Guilds.

  • Career Opportunities and Further Study

    With this qualification, you can progress to higher-level Functional Skills, Sector related qualifications or Digital Skills.

    Achieving these qualifications to the required level can also support you to gain employment, take on an apprenticeship or progress to University.

  • Price and Funding

    This course could be fully funded subject to eligibility criteria.

    If you wish to pay for this course the commercial price is £1196 for Entry Level Maths, and £920 for Level 1 and 2 Maths. You can do it in instalments.

    To be eligible for full funding, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Must be aged 19 or over.
    • Must not have previously completed this course at the same level.
    • Must have been living in the EU for the last 3 years.
    • Must live in England.


    You will be advised regarding your funding eligibility by an LLC Recruitment Advisor.
