Course Overview
This course will equip you with a detailed understanding of English at the appropriate level, including core modules that will aid employability and confidence in key skills. Our e-learning resources can be accessed online to give you time to practise your skills. They can be worked through with the support of your tutor to challenge and maximise the development of crucial skills for work and life. When you have completed all units of the course your tutor will prepare you for your functional skills examinations which are completed in the classroom at Entry Level and Online for levels 1 and 2.
English Functional skills courses are designed to support you in improving your written and oral communication. We deliver from Entry Level 1 up to Level 2 and will deliver the right level of English to suit your needs. A Level 2 Functional Skill Qualification is equivalent to a grade 9-4(A-C) GCSE and will help you improve your communication in the workplace.

Who is this course for?
Functional Skills qualifications are intended for anyone wishing to develop their English. They focus on both the underpinning skills as well as the ability to apply English to different contexts.

Entry Requirements
You must at least be working towards Entry Level 1 English to complete the first level of this course. For higher levels, you should be at least working at 1 level below.
Your English Levels will be assessed at enrolment where you will be guided onto the correct level of study for you.
If you are joining an online classroom course then you should have IT skills at least at Entry Level to enable you to access your classroom sessions.

Assessment Methods
This course is assessed through exams which will be completed in the classroom for entry-level and online for levels 1 and 2.
You must complete the Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening Exams to gain your full Functional Skills Qualification.

With this qualification, you can progress to higher-level Functional Skills, Sector related qualifications or Digital Skills.

Price and Funding
This course could be fully funded subject to eligibility criteria.
If you wish to pay for this course the commercial price is £920 and you can do it in instalments.
To be eligible for full funding, you must meet the following criteria:
- Must be aged 19 or over.
- Must not have previously completed this course at the same level.
- Must have been living in the EU for the last 3 years.
- Must live in England.
You will be advised regarding your funding eligibility by an LLC Recruitment Advisor.
