Step to Employment Traineeship
Arulini had previously achieved a level 3 BTEC in Computer Science and Business Studies. Arulini believed that the work experience would provide the necessary experience needed to enter an IT employment.
Arulini felt her major barrier was the lack of IT work experience and desired to improve her confidence and communication skills. She believed that the programme would both boost her confidence and communication skills while providing gaining work experience.
Arulini completed and achieved her Level 1 Qualifications in Customer Service, Employability Skills, and Personal Development. She was offered a Kickstart position with the LLC as an Operations and Recruitment Administrator and believed the training, work experience and the opportunity to try something new have increased her confidence and resulted in her being offered employment.
Arulini has reached her goal of finding employment and sees the kickstart opportunity to evaluate future career options. She says “My confidence and communication skills have improved immensely. The Traineeship programme has enabled her to find employment in an area she would not have considered previously.” She enjoyed participating in the training and would consider further training courses to improve her career prospects. In addition, she demonstrated her maturity within the group setting and supported colleagues within the programme by providing ideas and assisting in projects.
