Classroom Based Courses

If you are aged 19+ and in receipt of either Jobseekers' Allowance or Employment Support Allowance (in the Work Related Activity Group) then you may be eligible for your course to be fully funded. You will also need to have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years. If you are currently employed then these courses may be co-funded. Please call us to discuss your particular circumstances. 
 

Apprenticeships for 16-18 Years of Age

If you are aged 16-18, your apprenticeship programme will be fully funded.
 

Apprenticeships for 19-23 Years of Age

24+ Advanced Learning Loans

You may qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan to help with the cost of your programme fees. Most learners aged 24 and over, studying at Level 3 or Level 4, will qualify for these loans from the UK government. It’s easy to apply, your household income isn’t taken into account and there’s no credit check. You won’t have to pay anything back until your income is over £21,000 a year.

To qualify for a 24+ loan you must be:

  • Aged 24 or over
  • Living in the UK on the first day of your training and have lived in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for three years immediately before.
  • Enrolling on a Level 3 or 4 qualification

Discretionary Learner Support

If you are aged 19 or over, on a further education course and facing financial hardship you could be eligible for Discretionary Learner Support (DLS). To be eligible you must be enrolled on a SFA funded course and show commitment to the programme of learning with attendance of at least 85% and satisfactory progress (assessed by the tutor). 

Providing you meet the eligibility criteria, the DLS bursary may cover travel costs, childcare costs, tuition fees etc. For more information about this scheme please visit www.gov.uk/discretionary-learner-support
